Martinique Beaches, Flowers, Apartment

Martinique Beaches, Flowers, Apartment

Hello! Welcome to another post from beautiful Martinique. Seriously, this place is fantastic and we're really loving it. The island is pretty small, but there is really so much to do. If you're looking for a place to take a vacation, I highly recommend it. I'm a few weeks behind what we have actually done, so if you follow me on Instagram (@creativemammakathleen) you may have seen a couple of these pictures already.

Introducing Martinique

Hello! It's been awhile. For those of you who may not know, Nick and I have flown the coop. We decided to go on the road for his job again and have moved to the West Indies island of Martinique, which is a territory of France. I thought it was in the Southern Caribbean, but when I arrived, I found out that technically it's the West Indies. I've always thought the West Indies were an exotic location. Turns out, I was right! Since they are a French territory, they speak French here. They also speak Creole. Communication should be interesting.

Map from Maps of the World

We left Idaho on June 6th for what was supposed to be an easy 24 or so hour journey to our new home. Turns out, luck was not on our side. We rode a shuttle bus from Idaho Falls to the airport in Salt Lake City and the bus left a full 45 minutes late. I don't know why because the only person who got on the bus after our scheduled departure time was the bus driver. We made what seemed like a hundred stops on the way down and the driver didn't seem to be in any hurry to get to the airport. We were supposed to arrive at the airport almost 3 hours before our flight. Turns out, we barely made it. There was a family on the bus from Pakistan and they missed their flight. I can't imagine that was a very easy flight to reschedule. Poor people.
